First known as “Solka,” which he said has no meaning and that at the age of 10 or 11 he randomly typed letters on his keyboard without looking to come up with this name.
- “Quad” doesn’t have a meaning to him either. But he changed his name because he felt like “Solka” sounded too cute, and he wanted a stronger and firmer sounding name.
Known as a Cassiopeia one-trick in Korean solo queue when he started out.
Lost a lot to Bdd in solo queue, which motivated him to expand his champ pool and become a pro player.
Made his debut (while named “Quad”) in LCK on DRX in Spring 2020 for a series while Doran was suspended and Chovy had to temporarily play top lane.
Joined the starting roster of DRX for 2021 while renaming back to “SOLKA.”
Experienced stage fright. He announced retirement from esports at the end of 2021 as he felt “mentally overwhelmed” from losing a lot.
Renamed back to “Quad” and became a streamer/content creator for Gen. G for a year.
Returned to esports (LCK) when he was signed by Nongshim RedForce in summer of 2023.
Joined FlyQuest Academy for 2024 spring, won the split, and was promoted to the main roster in summer.
According to Quad on stream: He was suddenly asked to go to MSI along with the main FlyQuest team to be part of the bootcamp environment, but couldn’t play much solo queue due to shortage of computers. He watched scrims and studied English with an app on his phone every day.
Is still matching Instagram profile pictures with Rascal as of 2024. They both have pictures from the anime/movie “Your Name.”
He is taking English classes twice a week according to him on a stream in June 2024. He said he can understand around 80% of in-game comms in English no problem, but has a lot more trouble with understanding everyday conversation, especially with different accents involved.
He also reads books.
Hates salad but is eating it to lose weight.
In June 2024, he said a recent ‘jinx’ (superstition/routine) he experienced was that when he ordered venti size iced americano, the practice was good, and when he ordered medium, the practice became bad, so he tried ordering venti size again and the practice became good again. So he thought if he doesn’t order venti size iced americano, practice won’t be good. (Vod)
