TL UmTi: “Vibes were not good. I was having a hard time for that for sure. [But] I think this week was good.”

Q: Easy win or no?
UmTi: Easy win? Not sure. The second game should be losing when we lose the teamfight. I think if I was the opposite comp, and then when we lost the blue fight and the third dragon, I think we should lose. But I think my my teammates played, very individually well in teamfights, especially Impact and APA.
Q: You seem a little down today, were you disappointed with your play?
UmTi: I can’t tell the reason for that right now. But, uh —
Q: You can’t say the reason, or you don’t know the reason?
UmTi: I can’t say the reason.
Game one, I think I played well. Probably, I think I played, like, perfect level. And then second game was just a little bit uncomfortable. A little bit messy, I would say. The second game, I should play perfect to win.
Q: What do you think of TL’s level right now?
UmTi: I think TL’s level should be consistent, but we are not consistent is the problem. I think our ceiling is very high, but [when we] get into a slumpy slump or something, then it looks like very trash. So I feel like we just have to make it more consistent.
Q: Do you think today was a slump day or a good day?
UmTi: Today is, compared to the normal day, a good day. But it’s not, like, a great day or a fantastic day or perfect day.
Q: I’m curious where you would rate among the top four junglers. Where would you put each jungler?
UmTi: For sure Inspired is first. River and the Blaber… hmm.
[Editor’s note: I usually edit out small language errors from players for whom English isn’t a native language, but I’ve included UmTi’s habit of calling Blaber “The Blaber” this time because it’s pretty fun. He does it pretty much every time but I’ve edited out from here on]
I think I’ll put myself second. And then Blaber third, and fourth River. [Inspired is] decisive and, has his own ego. That’s very important. I don’t know if ego is a very good word or bad word, but I think [it’s like] confidence, plus he has a good opinion about how he plays, and he makes team to play like that. So he’s a very good player. […]
River is very good at finding a picky angle, I would say. And he looks for more opportunity, like me. So he’s very good at that kind of things.
But, Blaber is a little bit different. He’s good at pathing. Basically, he’s like a textbook. Like, if you wanna learn or learn jungle, go [watch] Blaber and learn, I would say. He’s the most classic, and think he is very solid. So I think that’s Blaber’s strength. […] I mean, if he had a very different meta, he’ll be different. But when I’m watching him [for the last] one year and a half and kinda analyzing him, he seems like he’s a textbook player.
Q: How are you feeling about, TL’s trajectory moving forward? Will you get it together before playoffs?
UmTi: I mean, probably, we make it. I think the most important thing is alignment. [It’s about] connecting to the plan. Making plans, individuals watching map wider, and then knowing other’s thoughts even if you didn’t hear. That is very important. […]
Like, if APA is tp’ing top right now, it triggers, “Oh, we are gonna just run down top right now or we are gonna go drag and set up right now,” or something. Like, we are skipping everything and speeding up the game. Even if Eain only said, “I’m TP’ing top,” we [all] know what we’re gonna do.
Q: How are your vibes? is the team feeling alright?
UmTi: Vibes? I think it was not good, *laughs* probably. Vibes were not good. I was having a hard time for that for sure. I think [the vibes] this week were good. This week was good.
Q: This week was good? What do you think has changed?
UmTi: I can’t tell you about it *laughs hesitantly*.
Q: What’s it like to play against Hena, your former teammate?
UmTi: Playing against him is quite fun because he was an old teammate, and I know his habits. So in teamfights, I was watching him, and it was kind of fun to watch. On Zeri and Lucian, I was watching him, and he [made] similar mistakes when we were on the team together. […]
Honestly, I always, when I see the Hena’s games, hope that he plays well, because I like him as a friend. I think the shit talking was actually like, “I don’t wanna [make] him nervous. I wanna make him comfortable.” So that’s why I was joking with him. I know he’s always being very nervous normally, so I just wanna make him a little more comfortable.
Q: Do you have any final message for the fans?
UmTi: Thank you for watching this today, and thank you for the support. I will see you guys in next week.
Q: Anything specific for UmTi enjoyers?
UmTi: UmTi enjoyers? Well, just don’t get hurt at every [thing people say] or something.
I think a lot of the time, someone was blaming me. Like, everyone [online] was flaming me a lot. I don’t know if today [was like that] because I don’t see that kind of thing, but I don’t mind. I don’t want my fans to go there and then watch that shit-talking and join there [or comment] there like, “My UmTi is not bad.” Or [arguing]. I just wanna be them happy. And just enjoy the win, enjoy the game.
Q: APA said he plays better with less hair. What do you think about that?
UmTi: I don’t know. He’s just stupid, I guess. He likes to make that joke.
