BLG Xun: “All of us have the confidence that we’re going to win it all.”

"As for whether I'm the best jungler, I'll just use my in-game play to prove that."

Q: Can you tell me about your reputation as a foodie? You’re known for searching for good restaurants and quality food.

Xun: First of all, it makes me very happy that people enjoy that I like to find good restaurants and that they call me a foodie. I just like to find more good stuff to eat and going to good restaurants. It makes me feel happy and satisfied.

Q: CoreJJ, who is TL’s support, said that in Sao Paulo, you became known for touring the city, hunting for food during First Stand. He said that if he were to take one player on a trip, he would choose you and do a food tour around China. What do you think about that?

Xun: Yeah, that’s a good plan, and if he gets the opportunity to come to China, I’d like to buy him some very good food and enjoy it with him.

Q: If you were to pick a player, any player from another region, to go on a food tour with, what country would you choose, and what player?

Xun: I’d pick Oner from T1 because he does a lot of physical training, like me. We have talked about the gym previously, so if we got a chance to go on a food tour together, we would also get to discuss physical training more.

Q: But which country would you choose, then, to go on a food tour with?

Xun: For me, I’d like to go to Indonesia.

Q: I hear that you guys have been finding some good restaurants. Is there any food in Daejeon, like, that you would pick as your number one so far?

Xun: We don’t have much time to explore the city. But, the steak I’ve eaten in the hotel, I thought it was very good.

Q: Have you been watching T1 throughout the play-ins? What do you think of facing them?

Xun: Yeah, I’ve watched that T1 play in the play-ins, and I feel like they’re the same strong, you know? From all their synergies to the good stuff in teamfights and early game — they did a good job at everything.

Q: Does it look fair to you to put T1 in the play-ins? Because to me, they look like one of the best teams in the world right now.

Xun: Yes, based on the results and knowing T1 … T1 is a little bit too strong, maybe.

Q: After winning FST and LPL, do you think BLG come in as the favorites for MSI? And do you think you’re the best jungler in the world at the moment?

Xun: Not only me — all my teammates have the confidence that we’re going to win it all. And as for whether I’m the best jungler, I’ll just use my in-game play to prove that.

Q: At FST, it seemed like playing fast through the early game was the key to victory for you and G2. Now that HLE and T1, both teams who play much faster than BFX and GEN, are the LCK’s reps, do you expect they’ll be stronger challengers? Is that still the best way to play in this meta?

Xun: I feel like all the teams have had a similar understanding of the meta and a similar read, so the early game fights are very crucial for teams. Because of that, we may see more champion choices to help the team open up the early game, like maybe the supports will choose champions that can help a lot in the early game fights.

The team that can really do a good job in the early game skirmishes will do very well. And I feel like just all the teams have a similar level of understanding, so it really depends on the in-game choices.
