VIT Carzzy: “I invented [flirting with my teammates], and people see that it’s working, so now they are taking it away from me.”

Q: Quick and easy stomp to let people watch G2 vs FNC — I think a lot of people are happy with you right now.
Carzzy: I was also happy that the series was quite fast. I would’ve liked it to end even faster, personally, but it was good enough.
Q: Why did you make a dissatisfied/confused expression at the camera after Game 1? Were you unhappy with your performance?
Carzzy: Really? What? […] I have actually — oh! They wanted me to do something, and I didn’t understand.
Q: Do you remember this moment in comms?
Carzzy: Oh. I remember. I remember.
Q: What was going on there?
Carzzy: I have no idea. It’s just random noise. We’ve been playing like this in scrims, you know? Having fun, people doing random shit — so we’re replicating it on stage now. […] We do have a good vibe currently. And also the game was, like, super easy; it was kinda boring, so I tried to make it a little bit more fun for myself and the teammates.
Q: Are you the most talkative in comms?
Carzzy: I think it’s Lyncas. I’m usually second [most talkative] probably, I’d say. But also I’m just trying to make the guys around me feel comfortable and chill, so they’re not stressed on stage.
Q: Makes sense that it’s Lyncas, because he started singing right after. Does he sing a lot?
Carzzy: *laughs* Yeah, he’s wonderful. He’s singing all the time. He loves singing. […] It’s different songs. He’s singing something currently — I don’t know what the song is called or what the language is — [but] he’s singing some weird stuff.
He was singing this, Payphone, because we were fighting, and he was soloing Atakhan. And it’s like a meme, I think.
Q: What’s the vibe with the team? How strong is VIT?
Carzzy: Yeah. I mean, I personally, I feel like we are way better than the bottom tier teams, but I think we’re in the middle of the pack, I’d say, right now. We are Top 5, Top 6.
Q: So, better than NAVI, TH, SK, BDS, but just behind GX/FNC/KC/KOI/G2?
Carzzy: I personally feel like we are way way way better than the teams that we just mentioned, and then we have to, like, play really well to beat the other teams.
Q: What do you think the reason for that is?
Carzzy: It’s just individual skill, you know?
Q: That’s not a good answer; individual skills (hands) are hard to fix. People don’t usually say that.
Carzzy: Individual skill like — sorry, it was a bad answer. Wait.
Q: I don’t mean to contradict you — I just know that players never mean the same thing by “individual skill” that the community does. What specifically do you think VIT struggles to do individually?
Carzzy: I mean, I think it’s like game knowledge kind of — like knowing when to do what; being more comfortable on stage and having the process automated in your head so you don’t have to think about it.
I think we have to think sometimes a lot about what to do, while the better teams have it more automatic, and then they can play better and see [minor] stuff and punish. It’s, like, an infinite cycle.
Q: Do you, as the LEC veteran, feel pressure to call the game on your own? Is it getting easier as your teammates gain experience?
Carzzy: I mean, I personally don’t like — I don’t think it’s possible for one person to call everything. Everyone has to build on top of each other. So that’s what we are trying to do — just build on top of each other. Someone says something, and everyone adds some piece of information to make a good play or, two people talking to each other when they are making a play.
So we don’t have [a single shotcaller]. [But] Lyncas is the one who’s talking the most, leading the early game with plans and stuff.
Q: Thoughts on the G2/FNC draft in this game?
Carzzy: Yeah. I mean, I see Lucian, Braum, on one side and I don’t really like Lucian, Braum in EU. So I would favor G2 for this, and Alistar is really good — their comp is quite good into the enemy, I’d say. But let’s see, I think both comps are quite good. Like, Poby on Azir is really dangerous as well.
Q: Thoughts on Poby vs Caps?
Carzzy: I mean, I think Caps is a better player than him, and he adds way more to the team. So I think Caps should win unless he gets, like, individually destroyed 1v1.
Q: Isn’t everyone making romantic advances on their teammates stealing your move? You did that a ton on MAD Lions, like with your fanfics.
Carzzy: Yeah. I invented this. I invented this, and people see that it’s working, so now they are taking it away from me.
I don’t do it anymore, so they can have it.
Q: So that’s why you were so good back then?
Carzzy: Exactly. That’s what brought us to success in 2021. I think Jankos was the first one to do this stuff. That’s why G2 was so successful — then I took it from him. And now people see that it creates victory screen.
Q: I read your fanfic back in the day, definitely true.
Carzzy: Which one? There were way too many.
Q: You’re not making fanfics of this team, though.
Carzzy: No. I don’t fanfic anymore. It’s taking too much time, and I’m too lazy to do it.
Q: It’s not worth it to win?
Carzzy: No, it’s not.
Q: When Nisqy was back on the team, you weren’t tempted to write fanfics?
Carzzy: No. I really hate Nisqy, [so] I would never write anything about him anyway. […] He ran me down on his disgusting support, I’m not writing anything anymore.
Q: He’s going back to midlane, at least.
Carzzy: I think he’s not going anywhere anymore — he’s gonna be on the bench for the rest of his life. *smiles*
Q: Any final message to VIT and Carzzy fans?
Carzzy: Thank you guys for watching me, supporting me and my team — and us as a team. Oh, I said “me.” Yeah, everything is about me, guys. *laughs*
