TL APA: “I run off stage pretty fast, […] so I’m just 1v4ing in the restroom pretty much.”

Q: Do you know what a kilometer is? Have you figured it out yet?

APA: I’ve yet to figure out what the fuck a kilometer is.

Q: Any fun stories from MSI so far?

APA: We went to a really spicy hot pot place two, three days ago. Then [the next day], the entire time we’re trying to do draft and scouting prep, it’s just a queue for the restroom, one person after another.

Q: How are you feeling? That was crazy.

APA: I’m so hot right now, because it’s so hot on the stage and obviously the adrenaline’s going, all the emotions are going. So, other than being hot — obviously I feel great.

Q: You said you were confident TL would win, but were you expecting this?

APA: I thought the series would be closer than it was. I didn’t expect them to be that bad — I think in all reality, I started to get in a lot of their heads, which made games 3 and 4 quite easy.

It was [just] typing to you guys, but I was shit talking in pre-game lobby, and whenever I’d see them in restrooms I would edge it on a little bit. I run off stage pretty fast, so I went to the bathroom and 4 FNC guys came in, so I’m just 1v4ing in the restroom pretty much.

Q: How do you feel about the champ pool accusations?

APA: I think people have to ban me out to be completely honest with. I think I’m actually quite insane on a short list of characters. And it’s different from Worlds, where the fall off [on other champs] was really big, but I think now the fall off is just like average. I think Ahri, for example, is not one of my shortlist characters, but I still feel very comfortable — even though we lost the game, I think I played decently on Ahri.

Q: How do you feel about BLG/T1?

APA: I think we all thought we were gonna be facing the loser of GEN/TES, so it’s actually news to me that we’re facing the loser of BLG/T1. […] I’ve only learned [that we’re facing BLG/T1] within the last 20 minutes.

Q: How do you think about a match against a stronger opponent in general?

APA: To be honest, I don’t think too much about it. I think we prep the same way if it’s GEN or if it’s EST, for example. I think @tbHaitham is quite insane, he gives us very good scouting. I think we had very good scouting of FNC today — I think we actually had very good scouting of TES. Just, on a player level, we all failed to execute. So, [either way] I think we’re gonna get good scouting vs whoever the loser is of that series.

I feel like, as long as we can perform, at minimum we should be able to take games off of whichever team loses [out of T1 and BLG].

Q: How are you feeling about your laning phase now?

APA: I think it’s been fine. Game 1 was hard because of the stuff that happened in the top jungle. If you lose flash versus Orianna, and don’t have vision, you just have to take a death, to be completely honest with you. You’re just gonna take a death to the Orianna ulti, [which is] what happened in Game 1. Game 2 I was just shitting myself. I had 3 out of 6 CS in the first wave, just completely uncontested, just missing CS. But, I think it was game 3 and 4, I played well in lane.

Game 2 I should have been able to win lane, […] I just quite unironically was just fucking missing CS. I think my laning has gotten a lot better playing the Korean server and now the China server. And playing against world class players will naturally make you better.

Q: Thoughts on lane swap meta?

APA: Lane swaps are so cringe, it just depends on the character they have. For example, we’re banning Oscar’s Camille. If they have Camille on the lane swap, she just hookshots on you lvl 1, gets your flash, or a TF flash ghost gold cards you.

I think the only point in lane swaps that’s cringe for mid lane is just the first three waves. There can just be a random person appearing in your lane for no reason, just because they have no job on the map but to go fuck with you.

Q: Wanna talk more about the “G2 can’t carry you forever”?

APA: G2 for the longest time has been carrying Europe, so it was just a way to punch down on FNC. [G2 is better than FNC] by a wide margin, in my opinion.
