MKOI Supa: “If we show the MKOI that showed its peak performance sometimes, we can win against every single team in the world.”

Q: Talk a little trash about Jojo. His ego has been getting a little big; everyone’s saying he’s the best player on the team. Tell me something he does embarrassing behind the scenes or something.
Supa: He says that?
Q: No, other people (i.e. Caedrel, Vedius, etc) are saying that.
Supa: I mean, first I don’t want people to tell [Jojo] that, because he will believe it and he will play worse and we are gonna lose. I want to win, so I just don’t want people to keep doing this, because it will help us lose. So please don’t do it — and if you do it, it’s just because you want us to lose. So I will tell him that, so he will not hear you.
Q: Is he still a big scrim flipper? Or are you guys generally scrim flippers? This is something that Jojo was accused of a lot when he was here.
Supa: (Laughing) I mean, I think all my teams were not consistent in scrims. So maybe it’s not just him, but especially him — he’s a big flipper, you know? I can tell you a story. The day before an official match, I think it was against NAVI, [in scrim review] we said, “You never go 0–8 on stage, Jojo.” Then the next day we play the official [match], he starts 0–8 or 0–6 with Azir. We still win the game, but you know, that’s Jojo. He wanted to prove he’s not flipping in scrims, and then he just flipped on stage as well.
Q: Oh, so he went 0–8 in scrims and he’s like, ‘No, this can happen on stage too, let me show you’?
Supa: Yeah, yeah, yeah. He said he was tryharding, that he’s not flipping — and then the next day he did it and said, “Guys, look, the same as in the scrims.”

Q: I asked Jojo about how your scrims are going, but I’m curious for you — because last year’s Worlds with MAD was not super inspiring. A lot of fans are doubting you guys, saying it’s going to be classic MAD Lions, even though you’re not really MAD Lions anymore. What feels different this time that’ll make your results different?
Supa: First of all, it can happen that we lose, it can happen that we win — you never know, no? At the end, it’s competition. People, for example, think that Gen.G is going to win the tournament. All the years they think the same, and most likely Gen.G never won Worlds when they are, in theory, the best team in the world. So it can happen that we see it ourself, it can happen that we do really well.
I honestly believe that we are a team that can improve the most, because I think when it comes to watching reviews, learning the game, learning the fundamentals, learning patterns, learning how to actually play the game — I think we are a really, really strong team. So I think they should believe in us, because I think we’re the team that […] I believe we are the team that can improve the most and can play really, really good League of Legends. But we’re a team that can go down as well. So just be mindful and enjoy — we are going to go without fear. I think if we show the MKOI that showed its peak performance sometimes, we can win against every single team in the world.
Q: Is there anyone you want to meet or do a jersey swap with from another region?
Supa: I already met Viper and had the chance to talk with him at the EWC as well. And he’s a player I really look up to, because when I started playing League, I always wanted to be the player that goes to the limit, goes to create the most advantages for himself. I was always watching Viper; I think he was great in this. And for me, I think outside that, I believe for example Ruler is playing really, really well this year, he was doing that, no?
I got the chance [to play vs Viper], so I’d like to play against him again because I only played one best-of-one against him. Why not talk with him again? Because I think he’s the player I want to beat the most out of this Worlds.
Q: You and Massu get compared quite a bit because you started around the same time, and Massu had that big breakout performance last year at Worlds. Now it’s between you, FlyQuest, and G2 as the best Western team. What do you think of Massu in general and his level as a player? Have you gotten to play any scrims against him?
Supa: Yeah, I could, but I believe scrims are the most fake data ever in my life. After my whole year — because I think we went 0–16 before stomping every single team, in the first LEC we won. So yeah, I think scrims are fake data.
(Smiling) Actually, now that you say it, I just want to play against Massu and prove to him who’s going to be the future best ADC in the world. I want to stomp Massu because, I don’t know, he doesn’t look nice, you know? Every single one from his team says hello — he never says hello to me back. I will just stomp him.
Q: I think he’s just shy.
Supa: (Lighthearted) I don’t believe him.
Q: As a last question — I hear you’re known for making very controversial and bold statements. Do you want to make any bold proclamations other than the one you’ve already made, that you can take games off anyone in the world? Call out someone or make some trash talk before the draw today.
Supa: (Laughs) I mean I like to make trash talk, but I want it to be healthy. So I need a rival first.
But the only thing I can say to every single team is: be careful when you play into me, because I’ll say that this worlds, you’re gonna meet a Supa that I haven’t shown yet — a Supa that’s going to be crazy every single moment of the game. You never know if I’m playing with the brain, or with the brain and with the craziness. I’ll put these two together. You know, I don’t care if it’s Gumayusi, Viper, Massu, or whoever — just, I’m not afraid of anyone.
Q: Thank you Supa, talk to you soon.
Supa: Thank you, hopefully I can do an interview with you in Shanghai and Chengdu.
