LYON Saint: “Thank you for cheering, but [the end was] the same with the last split. Same sad result.”

"In general, I think my performance was not bad, but not that good — just fine."

Q: What do you think about your individual performance this year, which was your rookie debut year?

Saint: In general, I think my performance was not bad, but not that good — just fine.

Q: Coming here from CL, what did you think of the level of NA mid lane?

Saint: I think in CL, I learned about how I can plan games, how I can [decide] assignments in general. Just the middle of things, you know, when you want to be a pro player. I learned about that in CL.

I came here and I tried just planning games, drafting games, [and asking], “How can we win?” And I got a lot of experience in [that] this year.

Q: What did you think about the level of other mid laners here?

Saint: I think in general, we’re getting leveled up. I feel like in higher teams, they’re [improving] because they play more valuable scrims, more valuable matches.

Q: Who do you think is the best mid laner in NA, other than yourself?

Saint: I still think it is Quad. Because he knows how he can make enemies uncomfortable, and how he can play games.

Q: How have you liked your time in NA? Would you consider continuing to play here?

Saint: Actually, I’m not sure about that, because I thought at least we will go to Texas. I thought we could go there at least. But I can’t believe this was the situation, because we scrimmed not bad.

Actually, in the first split, we could not beat higher teams in scrims. But now we usually can beat them, so I thought we can get to Worlds if we are really lucky. Maybe next year. I’m not sure now, because it’s so different to [what we] imagined.

Q: Any players on other teams you’re rooting for?

Saint: I think Rahel.

Q: Do you think he can beat C9?

Saint: Actually, [it’s] not easy, but can be possible.

Q: Do you have any fun memories hanging out with the team?

Saint: Actually, I don’t remember it that much… Oh, when we [went on] the Riot tour, it was not bad.

Q: Individually, you and Hena were very synchronized carries. Did you find it difficult to adjust to a team that uses three different languages?

Saint: I think there were problems, because we were not first language [level] in English. So when someone can’t lead a game [or] can’t lead a situation, I can’t tell them. I should explain faster, but I cannot do that.

And you know, League changes [in] only one second. We should bet only one second, we should go in. But I cannot make them [play] like that, because it’s all English.

Q: Have you been taking English classes?

Saint: I think after English classes, now [it’s] pretty easy to hear their calls. And now I can say, “What do I need? What do I want?”

But I still cannot be faster. I cannot explain in game. Complicated things are still harder.

Q: What was your favorite thing about each player on your team?

Saint: Srtty has a really good mental. When we lose hard in scrims, [and] we’re a little sad or a little tilted, Srtty always says, “We should win no matter what next game,” and makes [the] mood more comfortable.

And Oddie is also really good [with his] mental. I don’t have a good mental. Like, when we lose hard, I’m irritated, and I find what’s wrong in general. But I actually don’t find my individual problems.

When I say to Oddie, like, ugly shit, then Oddie could say the same ugly shit [back to me]. But Oddie just always says, “Oh, my bad.” So [since] I came here, I never fight with Oddie. I don’t know [if] that’s good for a pro player, but I think that’s Oddie’s good point.

And Hena. If he gets a hard laning [phase], he’s always good at fifty-fifties, even if they have an advantage.

Lyonz — sometimes when he leads the game, he has good solutions in those games. So sometimes we get a lot of advantages.

Q: Do you have any message for Saint fans? Will you be streaming off-season?

Saint: Oh, I’m not sure [about streaming]. Maybe.

Thank you for cheering, but [the end was] the same with the last split. Same sad result. Thank you for cheering until now.
