LYON Berserker: “I feel like on stage, [with pressure], no one really talked that much, except me and Inspired.”

"I just feel like Inspired is the best jungler in LCS, and even compared to Asian junglers he's really good. So that's why I decided to join LYON."

Interview conducted on Jan 31, 2026

Q: It was a tough loss, but are you feeling alright? C9 have had far more experience together.

Berserker: I mean I’m chilling — I mean, I didn’t practice that much with my team, because I only [got here] like 9 days ago. I feel like, after this series, we should know what [to do] in-game, individually. You know what I mean?

Especially in mid game, we just need to know what we should do, individually. That’s what I’m feeling right now.

Q: With the narratives about LYON, I’m curious — do you think that’s a problem of too many plans from different players, or just the wrong plan?

Berserker: I mean, I don’t think we have like… too many opinions about the gameplan. Usually, the team — especially on stage — just follows Inspired’s call. So I think that’s sometimes really good for [coordinating] the team, but especially when we’re losing it’s really bad

If Inspired is just behind in the game, then he doesn’t know what he should do, then our team is kinda lost, you know what I mean? […] That’s why I said we should know what to do, individually. That’s what I think.

Q: So if Inspired’s behind, because he’s not in a position to direct the game, no one can call effectively?

Berserker: I mean in scrims, it’s like much less pressure, so if we are trying to do something, anyone just makes a call — like a plan. Well, I feel like on stage, maybe we have too much pressure. No one really talked that much, except me and Inspired.

We should work on that, I feel.

Q: When you decided to come to LYON, what did that decision look like?

Berserker: Hmm. I’m … to be honest, I didn’t really want, like, come back to NA, because I just wanted to go high in League — if I just come NA, even if I make Worlds or MSI, I don’t think I can go [achieve] that much, you know what I mean?

But Kacper, Inspired, talked to me: “You wanna make something happen?,” and I said, “I’m down,” and I joined LYON.

I just feel like Inspired is the best jungler in LCS, and even compared to Asian junglers he’s really good. So that’s why I decided to join LYON.

Q: Were you looking at LCK or LPL offers too?

Berserker: I mean, I don’t think I can, like, talk in detail, but I had some offers in LPL and LCK, but [they] wasn’t really good offer compared to LYON. […] Not strong team. So I decided on this team.

Q: Last year was the first time you were on a bottom team all year. How did that affect your mental?

Berserker: I mean, last year was pretty tough. I think that I was playing good before Summer — and then I don’t know. I could just feel it after Spring. I could feel that my performance wasn’t that good anymore. My mental was still like “I’m fine – if we keep practicing, trying, put in hard work, then maybe we can just like make playoffs”.

After the season was done, I realized that I was just … out of my mind, you know? That’s how what I feel.

Q: Have you tried doing anything for this year to stay more mentally stable?

Berserker: When I was in C9, I was always trying to be alone in my room and then trying to, like, meditate – or just thinking about like how I’m feeling. But I didn’t do that in LCK. That’s why I didn’t realize that my mental is boom; that I felt, like, [so bad].

Q: So, you’re taking more time to evaluate where you are mentally.

Berserker: Yeah, that’s really important, I think.

Q: Can you talk about picking Isles? He’s the least well-known of your team.

Berserker: Yeah. I mean, I was playing with him in 2022 on C9 for like two weeks. Back then, I thought that he had good mechanics — I mean, that’s why I chose him. I mean, I can teach him about the game.

So if he has good mechanics, and then we’re playing [together] all year, maybe he can have good mechanics and have good, like, brain [as a] player. That’s why I chose him.

Q: So you trust that he’ll learn from you to improve his macro, and you know his mechanics are solid?

Berserker: I mean, I’m not… like trusting him. I just like … Yeah, that’s how I feel.

I never expect that, like, […] you should tell someone, “You should do this, you should do that” — I don’t think the other person can [just] do that, you know what I mean?

So I’m just trying my best, but I don’t really [hold expectations] that they’re going to be the best players in the league.

Q: Where would you put C9, TL, and FLY right now in the top 4?

Berserker: At this point, C9, [then] TL … then I think LYON and FLY are pretty same.

Q: Any last message for LYON fans today?

Berserker: Thank you for cheering for LYON — I mean, we lost today, but the season just started, right? […] We will [become] the champions.
