LOUD xyno: “I think it’s going to be hard, but it’s also good pressure. Like, we need to beat [LYON]. We are representing Brazil.”

Interview conducted on First Stand Asset Day, March 15, 2026.
Q: How do you feel about the attention and praise you’ve received individually?
xyno: I’m glad about that. It’s been a good journey so far. My teammates are really good and I think they put a lot of confidence in me, so that’s why I think the journey has been so good.
I think it’s really positive to be on the scene. I’m really happy and glad to be here. I think it’s an opportunity to represent Brazil. It’s such a big country with a lot of fans and the league community, so yeah, it’s good.
Q: Your photo from the start of the split is crazy. You look 12 years old.
xyno: Thank you. Thank you for saying that, because when I was on FURIA, when I met the CBLOL guys for the first time they said, “Oh bro, you look like you’re thirty years old, you’re chopped.” Then I said, “Bro, wait, I don’t have kids. I’m young.”
I was like sixteen years old but I had a really huge beard.
Q: But you also lost a lot of weight. Do you go to the gym a lot or is it just a puberty thing?
xyno: I think both. To be honest, more puberty, but I go to the gym also. So yeah, I think both.
Q: Do you feel intimidated or safer when you have Bull and Envy on your team since they’re so big?
xyno: I’m taller than both and I’m not that skinny, so I think we are a good team. If we played football we would be really good. Like American football.
Q: Wait, American football?
xyno: Yeah, American football, because we are huge, so I think we would beat all the other League of Legends teams.
Q: What about traditional football?
xyno: I’m better at basketball, but I can play a bit. Of course I’m Brazilian, so I need to show the sauce, you know?
Q: I feel like you might be the League team that’s best at winning a fight, out of everyone here.
xyno: Uhh, maybe? Like, [teamfighting]?
Q: No, sorry, like a physical fight. Literally fighting. Like GALA’s pretty big, but not really the rest of JDG.
xyno: OH! Literally fighting? Yeah, maybe, maybe. I think Chovy is pretty tall… I don’t know.
The problem is, [many] Koreans learn martial arts when they are young, you know? So I think maybe because of this — but we have two Koreans, so I don’t know.
Q: Do YoungJae and Bull know martial arts?
xyno: I don’t think so — not YoungJae. Bull did Taekwondo, I think, when he was a child. But YoungJae… I don’t think he leaves home. Maybe [he learned martial arts], but he only plays League and watches K-pop girls, so I don’t know.
Q: Often when players play their first international, they say they’re getting smashed in scrims. Is that what it feels like?
xyno: I mean, we’re Brazilian, so we come to international events feeling like we’re going to get smashed by anyone: “If it’s a bug and she’s not Brazilian, she’s going to beat us.”
But I think when we go into scrims, we are not getting beaten that much. I actually feel fine. I feel good because I think we have pretty good lanes. We played against both China and Korea and I think they are really amazing — they have a really strong sense of how to play the game, but I think we can deal with this.
I think we are doing good so far, but we need to prove it on stage. I think that’s the hardest part.
Q: I want to ask you about the Americas Cup because FURIA completely destroyed C9 and Sentinels. Will you have an easy 3-0 against LYON?
xyno: I think LYON is actually pretty good. I think they are better than both C9 and Sentinels. But I also think Brazil is doing well internationally. For example, RED wasn’t even willing to play together and they almost beat C9 — I think Brazil is in a good spot.
I also feel like FURIA’s game style is really good for playing other teams internationally. I think they played really well with that style and that’s why it was such a big destruction. But I think we can also look this good too.
So yeah, the America’s Cup pressure for sure does exist. If FURIA beats everyone then we also need to beat LYON. We are representing Brazil, and Brazilian fans are amazing. They are crazy — like, I saw your Twitter and how much you got bullied.
Q: It was crazy, we didn’t even get a game. I was cooked.
xyno: Yeah bro, this is Brazilian community. That’s why I think we deserve more respect. I don’t know if the word is respect, but I think we deserve one more spot.
Q: Consideration, maybe?
xyno: I think consideration is a good word. We are entering this match and I think it’s not going to be easy — it’s not 3-0 and GG. I think it’s going to be hard, but it’s also good pressure. Like, we need to beat these guys. We are representing Brazil.
Q: Are you aware of Dhokla’s funny counterpicks and strange champions? What do you think about him as a player?
xyno: He is very respectable. I grew up while he was already playing, so I knew of him from when he was already a pro.
About the counterpicks, it’s kind of annoying — their team resolves to play this game style and I’m not against it, but I also think when you play these champions you are getting away from the pattern champions, the normal ones.
When you get away from the normal ones, sometimes it’s because you’re not comfortable with the standard matchups; it can feel like you need to play something different because that’s the only way you can beat the other player.
I kind of feel that way [about Dhokla’s unique picks]. I don’t want to be mean though.
Q: That’s a unique lack of ego for a rookie — even Bull said you play very stable like a veteran, on all the normal champions. Do you still have picks like that? You used to be an ADC player, after all.
xyno: Actually I have [some]. ADCs, they don’t let me play — I play a bit, but they don’t [really] let me play. But the rest I can play. The main thing for me is what [gives] the best chance for my team to win. Maybe I can’t 1v9 or do my job, so, I need to play stable and trust my teammates.
Q: We’re out of time — good luck, but not too much luck, against LYON.
xyno: It’s fine. I saw your tweet, and you said LYON 3-0, right?
Q: … Inspired is really good, okay?
xyno: Okay, Inspired is really good, but let me say this: If we get 3-0’d and go to another international, I won’t interview with you anymore because you’re cursing us.
Q: Okay, then I’ll give you one game. I’m DM’ing Inspired right now.
xyno: Okay, nice. Now I’m confident. One game, at least, is ours.
Q: He won’t listen to me. He hates losing more than anything.
xyno: He feels… like a mad guy.
Q: He’s not mad, he just only wants to talk about League, honestly.
xyno: Maybe that’s why he’s so good.
