KT Peter: “It feels like I finished a piece of homework that’s supposed to take a month, but I finished it in one day.”

"Watching Worlds so far, I realized that anyone can beat anyone, and anyone can make it out of the three different pools, so I think there’s a chance of facing anyone [in Quarterfinals]."

Q: Despite all the doubt, you’re the first team to make it out of Swiss. How amazing does that feel?

Peter: It feels like I finished a piece of homework that’s supposed to take a month, but I finished it in one day.

Q: Do you have any fun stories from the day today?

Peter: Although we are currently playing in China, when we were walking into and out of the venue, everyone was yelling “KT Fighting” for us and that was really motivating. I love the support.

Q: Today in game 1, you had a really funny play involving the Herald, do you remember it?

Peter: Not really, can you break it down for me really quickly?

Q: At the drake fight, you used the Herald…

Peter: Ah, I was not actually supposed to take the Herald, it should’ve been taken by someone else so that they could survive, so I actually consider this play as a little bit of a mistake on my end.

Q: When mistakes like that happen in an important game, are you the type of player who can laugh it off easily?

Peter: We always try to laugh it off, and for myself I try to say to myself “It’s okay, it’s okay, let’s just focus on what’s next.” But it does sometimes mess up my focus and our entire team’s.

Q: Many of your fans are often afraid of cheering you on, fearing that you guys will always lose when they’re most excited. Do you have a message for them?

Peter: Laughs. I want to tell the KT fans to feel free to enjoy this moment of excitement and happiness and keep supporting us. We’re going to keep the same mindset: showing up to each match as a challenger. We will continue to be humble, and keep our guards up, so I hope the fans can enjoy on our behalf.

Q: How is practice going for you, especially against the teams from other regions?

Peter: Because this is my first worlds, at first I thought “Of course LCK is the strongest region” and then after playing against the teams from the other regions, because all of the qualified teams are the best teams from their regions, they’re really good. So I was able to learn a lot from the scrim experience.

Q: FlyQuest’s support, Busio, is touted as the best Western Support going into this Worlds. Some people call him “NA Keria,” do you agree with this nickname?

Peter: I agree, 100%. Whenever we watch them play, even our coaching staff goes crazy, like “Woah look at Busio, look at Busio, his Neeko is amazing.” When I messaged Quad [recently], I even told him “Your support is really good, man.” I agree with this nickname.

Q: Busio is very extroverted, you can also talk to him directly

Peter: Oh, sounds good.

Q: Because you’re in the 3-0 group, you’ll be facing off against the 3-2  teams in Quarters. Is there any team you want to face/avoid?

Peter: I definitely do not want to face any of the LCK teams. But watching Worlds so far, I realized that anyone can beat anyone, and anyone can make it out of the three different pools, so I think there’s a chance of facing anyone. I can’t really predict, per se, so we’re just going to do our best in terms of preparation.
