FLY Quad: “I needed to [play] a new season. I needed to feel better. […] I just felt like shit.”

Q: How were you feeling after Worlds?

Quad: My feeling was really bad because of how [our season] ended. Everyone was feeling bad I think — so my feeling was really really bad and then I just really wanted to take a rest. Now I’m feeling good because I took a rest.

[No matter what], I needed to do a new season. I needed to feel better. I can’t feel like…

I just felt like shit. Tried to keep playing solo queue, or like to go outside. I want to feel better, like, [for my sake].

Q: A lot of fans were afraid you’d take a competitive break after such a brutal year. Did that thought even cross your mind? It sounds like you were always ready to play again.

Quad: I thought I was going to play again because… at [2025 Worlds], I was not good. I don’t want to end it like this. That’s why I came back to pro play, you know?

And then this year, I [Papasmithy] told me that I’m gonna play with a lot of rookies. I think it’ll be fun. Also, I’d like to be the leader of shotcalling, so I can test myself again — in a different way, maybe.

Also, I [thought I’d] get a lot of energy from them because they’re so young — but now I’ve been here only one week and… they have too much energy. I think I’m already tired. Even yesterday I slept like 12 hours. I think I’m tired.

Q: I know Gryffinn’s really energetic, right?

Quad: Yeah, he’s crazy. But in a good way. […] We’ve talked a lot and so he’s asked me a lot of weird things.

Q: What are the weird things he’s asked you?

Quad: Things like … Nobody’s asked me stuff about, like, girls. […] Like, “What’s your type?” or “Do you like long hair or short hair?”

Q: Wait, now I want to know. Do you prefer long hair or short hair?

Quad: *laughs* I prefer long hair.

Q: So, do you think Gryffinn he asks more about girls and stuff or does he ask you more about the game?

Quad: I mean, we played scrims only for one day, and then we didn’t play together a lot, so […] I think he’s asked me about [girls more]. Also, I think he’s gonna ask me about girls even more than the game [in the future].

Q: Do you feel this team is more reserved than before? Inspired and Bwipo were very big personalities.

Quad: It probably is more quiet than before, but… we still talk a lot. I think Gakgos talks kind of a lot — he’s sometimes quiet, but I think he talks a lot. Also, Cryo has a lot of energy. And then Gryffinn is too much, I think.

More than Bwipo or Inspired, I think. He talks a lot more than them. […] But I think it’s good. I think someone needs to talk a lot in the team.

Q: Now that Inspired’s on LYON, a lot of people think FLY will be worse — do you feel like you want to beat LYON to prove something? That you and Massu can win without Inspired?

Quad: Of course I’d like to beat LYON because Inspired just left FlyQuest. […] It’s really good to play against him and then win against him. I hope he’s playing well, and I hope he wins a lot — but without… against us. I want to win against Kacper… (searching for the words)

Q: You’d like them to win, except against FLY, right?

Quad: Yes, that’s what I mean. I mean, Inspired is … he’s so good. They’re gonna be in a really good place, like first or second, I think.

Q: Do you feel like, looking at LYON, that tilting or not getting along could be a problem for them?

Quad: Umm… It’s kind of hard to [tell] for me. I think maybe, maybe […] a little bit? *laughs*

Maybe they need to [improve] environment or like culture, I think. Because I think Saint needs to [align with] the team, I think. That’s the first thing. […]

I think Saint needs to join with their team or environment, or culture like this.

Q: He needs to get along with the team more?

Quad: Yeah, I think so.

Q: Do you have any message to your fallen brother Busio who left to EU?

Quad: Honestly, I don’t want to try and talk shit to Busio because he was so nice and I really liked him.

I love him, so I hope we just meet at some international events. I don’t really want to face Busio because I don’t want to beat him — but also, I don’t want him to beat me.

I just wanna meet him again, like Worlds or somewhere, I don’t know.
