FLY Busio: “I’m a bit of a rizz master. It’s not really something I can teach.”
Q: How do you feel about dropping a game to SR? I assume that wasn’t part of today’s plans.
Busio: I mean, the plan is never to lose to anyone. But I just thought I didn’t play very well today — just a low level of play, I felt not very sharp. I was just playing bad for sure.
In terms of why we lost, I think our comp was just very one-dimensional, and we just didn’t win lanes that we should have won. So we weren’t in a commanding position, then our comp couldn’t really do much. We could only just follow the pace of the game that was set from the early lanes.
That loss was just kind of a slow, slow, slow game, and it came down to team fights. Late game team fights didn’t seem very easy, rewatching them in the short amount of time we had between game 2 and 3. But I haven’t really reviewed [yet], you know, so I’m not sure.
Q: Time for rapid-fire fun questions. Would you ever bet your hair on a match?
Busio: Bet my hair on a match? Um… If I get something from it, sure. But we have people betting their hair on a match just betting for fun, for zero.
Q: What about for someone else’s hair? Whose hair is as valuable to you as your hair?
Busio: Umm… I don’t know. I don’t think one-for-one is really worth in this economy.
Q: What was the afterlife like? You know, you died. Massu bet your life. You bet Massu’s life. Did you guys meet in the afterlife? What was that like?
Busio: We played a lot of arena together to kinda reconnect. Every arena game, I was reviving some percentage, you know? I think we still have to queue up some more before it gets removed.
Q: If this roster was abducted by aliens, who would survive?
Busio: Abducted by aliens? Maybe Quad because he’s just so chill. The aliens will be like, “We can’t do anything to this guy. He’s way too chill. Like, we gotta let him be.” So Quad would just walk it off.
Q: I saw you trying to make friends on Twitter this week, and you got kinda clowned. You were in the replies, you said hi. What’s up with that? You don’t have enough friends yet?
Busio: You know, as an LTA player, I’m told I need to build my brand. So I’m just scrolling through my timeline — gotta interact, you know, gotta build my brand, get back to the fans. So, yeah, just doing my job.
Q: You’re famous, known by many players in the league for your rizz. Do you have any comment on that?
Busio: Yeah, I’m a bit of a rizz master. It’s not really something I can teach. You just either have it or don’t.
Q: So, you had this since birth?
Busio: Yeah. I think I just spawned with it. […] But, last year, I did have an aura coach. His name was RaqoEU. You know Raqo? [E/N: former FLY Challengers / FlyQuest NZXT coach.] He studied aura to the max, for years.
One year with him really boosted my trajectory, and after that, it hasn’t been recoverable. The rizz is just maxed.
Q: I put all 5 fantasy FlyQuest players because you guys have been so good. And, everyone inted me, and now I have no points. What’s going on with that?
Busio: Sucks! I mean, it’s gambling, bro. You’re trying to predict the future. That’s just how it is, you know? […] But also, that’s on you. You over-indexed hard into one stock. Come on. That’s basic.
Q: Do you know you made this face when you locked in Yorick for Bwipo on R5 against Rumble?
Busio: *laughs hysterically* Can you send me that? I wanna save it. I feel like I need to be reacting to people with that.
Q: So what was going through your head when he locks this in?
Busio: Dude, I don’t know. Maybe I was thinking about something else. *laughs* Like, I have zero problem with Bwipo Yorick. I actually love Yorick. He’s so broken on it. Bwipo’s a demon in the sideline, and they always try to gank him, and he just 1v3s. He’s just a Yorick master. I don’t know if that face was related.
Q: If something does stop you from going MSI, what would it be?
Busio: I think we just need… I mean, the only team that looks competitive to us — when we’re playing well — is C9, but I think they play very, very safe and slow. So I think if we’re on, we should just beat them.
But, you know, when we have off weeks or off days like today, then we can lose to almost anyone. So we just need to be consistent and make sure our level is high when it matters. We gotta be all consistent, as a unit.
Q: What causes that instability? Is it overconfidence?
Busio: I don’t know. For me, personally, I’ve just been tired. I was pretty tired yesterday. So, like, in my second block, I wasn’t doing very well in scrims. Even in solo queue after, I was kinda losing it. Even the day before, in the evening, I remember I was so tired. I don’t know why.
So then, maybe when I’m tired, I don’t build good habits, and I build bad habits. So then when I go on stage, like, I’m not confident.
I don’t know the reason. I’m just speculating. But all I know is I didn’t have the best day yesterday, and today I played below my personal standards. So there’s definitely something for me to look at and think about. Or maybe it’s just [a] bad day yesterday, and I was thinking about it too much today, so then I played worse.
Q: Couple more fun questions. People are sending them in. How much do you bench press?
Busio: Dude, I don’t even bench press.
Q: Do you have any other impressive physical feats? I’ve seen evidence of you lifting women sort of fireman style.
Busio: Yeah, I can do that. I mean, I’m not big or anything. I’m just pretty low body fat. So then I look big, but my lifts aren’t insane or anything. Not at all. So I just look kind of strong.
Q: That’s the important thing. You don’t need actual strength in this world. It’s all about the looks.
Busio: It’s all about the looks so you can farm on Twitter. [Obviously], guys, come on.
Q: Do you know Italian brainrot, and what’s your favorite one?
Busio: What? What did you say? Bro, I have no clue what you’re talking about.

Q You had one named after a teammate, right?
Busio: Yeah. I had many. I think I had Doublelift, Bjergsen, Jensen. None of them died. They’re all alive.
Q: Check TL vs DSG draft quickly before we have to go. What’s your prediction?
Busio: Let me get in. Wow. This interview’s advanced, we even got the screen share going.
I think both teams have, like, pretty reasonable drafts. I don’t see huge holes. I slightly like TL’s draft more because I think their map play and macro will just be better because they have two super strong champs for just trading and anti trading. They have Sion and Ziggs, and then their team comp is still pretty reasonable — they have a lot of frontline to set up for Lillia to make her space. They have a very high DPS ADC.
I assume Varus will go on-hit because Ziggs will already be outranging and kinda doing that kind of stuff. And the enemies have a bunch of front line. So I do like TL’s draft more, but DSG on the other hand has more playmaking, you know? They can be a little creative. But, again, you can’t be really creative on the Sion side, so that’s why I think TL has an easier macro game with this draft.
Q: Is your prediction 2-0 TL?
Busio: Yeah. I would predict 2-0 TL.
