BFX Vicla: “Once I came back to LCK, all those experiences really paid off and created the type of player I am — and how good I became.”

Interview conducted on First Stand Asset Day, March 15, 2026.
Q: How are you feeling? How is Brazil?
Vicla: Brazil is good. The weather is so nice right now, and the food is good — I think it’s a good place, […] I’ve never been here before.
Q: Since this is your first international tournament, how different does it feel to play here?
Vicla: Yes, it’s our first international tournament. […] Yes, I started scrimming. Because we’re in a new environment, there are things that are going our way and things that are not really exactly working out either, but it’s really fun overall.
Q: Would you believe me, two months ago, if I told you that you’d be at First Stand?
Vicla: *laughs* I [don’t] believe I’m coming to First Stand right now.
Q: What do you think changed for the team?
Vicla: We changed a lot of macro. We’ve just more upgraded now — upgrade mid, upgrade jungle.
Honestly, [Diable] was doing such a great job already, it was kind of impossible for him to become better. But he somehow made it possible — he has upgraded as well. But I think what was really important was for our top side to level up, and I think that’s what really carried everything forward to this moment.
Q: Looking back, what made your time in LCS so difficult?
Vicla: I think my greatest strength is really shotcalling, in the end. When you’re overseas — out of Korea — trying to play the game, you have to be used to not speaking Korean. You actually have to speak English, something that you’re not really used to.
I think that just takes an extra step in my head to process — and then I would end up missing a lot of the in-game details. That was what was really challenging about playing in the LCS. [It was] the biggest hurdle that I had to overcome when I was playing in NA.
Q: Have you looked into the other teams? What’s your impression of how strong the other regions are?
Vicla: Once we were finalized to go to First Stand, we spent time watching every single one of our opponents, and how they play. [No] one team is considered an easy opponent. I think we’re just going to have to do even better ourselves.
Q: After all of the legendary mids you’ve played against in LCK, Knight might be your last major opponent. What do you think of facing him?
Vicla: I’ve watched Knight play, and obviously we’ve been doing our own preparations since they’re our first opponent. I feel like Knight is such a solid and well-rounded player — even if there is a mistake, he doesn’t actually get swept away by that.
And he has that really good fundamental movement. His movement is really good in general. Obviously I wouldn’t say that I am pressured or overwhelmed in any way, but that’s honestly because of all the legendary players, mid laners, that I play against [in LCK]. In the end, we will definitely have to try our best in order to win against them.
Q: As a rare player who’s competed in LCS, LPL, and LCK, do you feel that LCK is that far ahead of everyone else right now?
Vicla: I do feel first-hand that LCK is on a different level compared to other regions. Something to note is that every country has their own [distinct] play style and since I have experienced in LCS and LPL, I was able to grow as a player. Once I came back to LCK, all those experiences really paid off and created the type of player I am — and how good I became.
But in the end, I do feel like LCK is definitely different compared to other regions.
Q: Any message for BFX and Vicla fans? What’s your goal for this tournament?
Vicla: I’m always grateful that I received so much support and for all the fans that support BFX.I always feel that gratitude.
My goal is, given that there are so many good mid players out there internationally, I just want to show everyone that I am able to go up against them, no problem.
