Q: That was a long, tiring series. What are you feeling?
Tomo: Well, in Game 3 I made the game losing play, [getting caught by Lucian R], so obviously I feel like shit right now. In general, I’m a bit sick today […] so I’m definitely not 100 — but it isn’t an excuse to lose today. I think we’re definitely better but we’re just making really dumb mistakes.
Q: How has everything been going till now?
Tomo: It’s been nice, just everyone in one room playing league all day, just grinding. I think we had pretty good results in scrims, we scrimmed all the European teams and we did pretty well. So, I wasn’t too worried about today — but obviously they played better.
Q: How did you feel about the drafts? They were a bit unorthodox.
Tomo: I think Game 2 draft was a bit difficult for me, just because every fight I got one shot and when I had two items we didn’t play around me. And of course, every Baron we had this entire series we [threw]. I think it was definitely a gameplay issue [more than draft], but the drafts could’ve been easier as well.
Q: How does it feel to be onstage in Berlin?
Tomo: I really like the setup on stage, it feels really smooth. It’s the best setup I’ve played on so far. The crowds really energetic, so good vibes overall. I mean, bad vibes because we lost, but good vibes in general.
Q: How do you feel about facing SHG?
Tomo: Not sure, I definitely think we’re capable of making it out of play-ins, it’s just we really need to fix our mistakes.
Q: What do you think brought those mistakes out on stage today? Some of them were pretty out of character.
Tomo: I don’t know, maybe it’s because we haven’t played a stage match in a long time, we’ve just been scrimming all day, every day — in scrims there’s a lot of fighting everywhere, so maybe just bad habits that we didn’t realize were as significant as they were; they snowballed.
Q: How does it feel for you to play with this team?
Tomo: I really like them, it’s definitely the best roster I’ve ever played on; personality-wise and the most mechanically gifted. I just really enjoy playing with everyone.
Q: Do you have a message to the fans?
Tomo: Today was definitely a wake-up call for us. We’re definitely going to lock the fuck in over the next few days, and hopefully we can make it out.
