Q: How are you doing? Easy win?

FBI: Yeah, For the most part. Game one, I’d say, looked like it could’ve gone the other way for a bit, but game two was maybe a little cleaner.

Q: You expected a 2-0, I assume?

FBI: Yeah, I would say so. I think DSG obviously has a couple rookie/newer players, and they’ll need a bit more time to gel. Whereas our team, they’ve played together for a year.

Q: How has it been slotting in? You often slot into teams like this, with established cores.

FBI: As you said, the last two teams I was on, NRG and EG, it was the same thing — I was just slotting into an already-existing system and team. And I think, especially coming back to 100T was really comfortable for me, because there’s a lot of familiar faces and everyone’s just really welcoming. The team vibes are honestly some of the best that I’ve ever been on.

Q: Eyla mentioned you’re great for the team vibes. Is that a new effort of yours? I always saw you as more reserved.

FBI: Well, just personality wise, I would say I’m like an introverted extrovert. Like, generally, I’m pretty quiet, but, once I get to know people, I would say I’m more on the side of being an extrovert. And, yeah, generally, early on in my career, I kind of realized that vibes, and just having a good time coming into the office, are really important for a team to progress.

You’re gonna see your teammates every day. You’re gonna see your teammates more than your friends and family. I just think it’s pretty important to establish a good team culture, and it’s something that I try to focus on now. Especially, I guess, since I’m a veteran of the league now.

Q: What activities do you guys do together?

FBI: Yeah. I wanna say I always do that. I’ll just bring something to see if the boys wanna play some board games or just chill and do some activities together, to build that synergy outside of the game. I feel like just playing board games and interacting with each other has just been pretty fun. […] We’re playing, Avalon, a bit of Secret Hitler. And then, we’re playing some Jackbox games.

Q: What about you personally?

FBI: I just play League. But, I do enjoy watching the UFC. I really enjoy watching the UFC. So every Saturday, I hope that scrims end fast or the stage game finishes fast. […] I would say my favorite fighter is Robert Whitaker, he’s an Australian former champion.

Q: Any funny anecdotes with the team?

FBI: I do have a funny story. It was from back in our boot camp before the year started in Korea, and the team. Like I said before, we went to go play some board games. We went to play Avalon and Sniper couldn’t figure out which characters were what. We had to restart the game about 10 times before we finally got the game started. […]

Sniper is definitely a character, but he’s a really good kid and he really brings great vibes — and his heart’s always in the right place, even though sometimes his brain might be missing.

Q: TL is going to be your opponent next week. How are you feeling going into that matchup?

FBI: Well, I think obviously TL are a really strong team. Just in terms of base fundamentals, them and FLY have the best idea of how they wanna play the game, and how their team wants to play the game. […] TL is better at fundamentals because they play the game the way the game should be played. And FLY plays the game the way they wanna play the game.

The way it should be and the best way to play are always two different things. But, yeah, in terms of the standard macro play and lane swaps and stuff like that, they are definitely really solid and they don’t make too many mistake. Where I will say that they do falter a bit is, I think FLY team fighting is, honestly, a higher level than Team Liquid. And I think one of our strengths is getting to the team fights, being ready to pull the trigger, and everyone being on the same page on how we wanna fight.

Q: Where would you rate yourself as an ADC vs Yeon?

FBI: I mean, regardless of where I am in the standings, how my team is doing, or anything like that, I’ll always think that I’m the best ADC in the league. With that being said, I do think Yeon is a very solid player. He doesn’t really have too many weaknesses. He’s a good laner. He’s got a lot better at team fighting. So I think it’ll be a fun matchup.

Q: Thoughts on streaming scrims?

FBI: Honestly, I think it would be a good thing for the league. It would generate more interest and give the public a behind the scenes look at our practice. I think it’s a good idea. I’m down. […]

[For players to watch,] I think it’ll depend on the team and what kind of things that you can actually take away from watching their scrims. Obviously, each team has different players with different strengths and different samples. I mean, it definitely won’t hurt, right? Like, it can only help other teams. To the extent of which it can help the region actually improve, I’m not too sure. We would have to try it and see.
